Audrey Ann Fisher (1926-2023), of Portland, Oregon, and Spokane, Washington, served in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) and the United States Army from 1949 to 1976. Audrey Ann Fisher was born in 1926 and grew up in Portland, Oregon, and Spokane, Washington. She graduated from high school in 1943 and spent five and a half years working for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company. In February 1949, Fisher enlisted in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) for a three-year tour of duty. She completed basic training and clerk typist school at Fort Lee, Virginia, and then became an instructor there. She was briefly relocated to Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky, with the clerk typist school, but was then assigned to recruiting in Pennsylvania.
