Cheryl Jester Poteat (b. 1950) of Greensboro, North Carolina, served as an imagery interpreter specialist in the United States Air Force WAF (Women in the Air Force) and the Air Force from 1973 to 1977. Cheryl Jester Poteat (b. 1950) was born in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1950. After graduating from high school, she worked for a hosiery company for approximately three years, and then enlisted in the Air Force in 1973. Poteat completed basic training in Charlotte, North Carolina, went for training in Denver, Colorado and was then assigned to Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina as an imagery interpreter.
