Elizabeth Ryan Wiviott (1921-2003) served in the United States Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) from 1943 to 1951. Elizabeth Iddings Ryan Wiviott was born on 31 December 1921. She attended the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now the University of North Carolina at Greensboro) and graduated in 1942. Wiviott enlisted in the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) in 1943. She completed basic training in Northampton, Massachusetts, and the served in the Norfolk Navy Yard in Norfolk, Virginia, the Boston Navy Yard in Massachusetts, and the Boston Naval Base.
