This collection consists primarily of materials relating to the countywide school system merger of 1993, in which three school boards consolidated into one. Extensive correspondence, with accompanying informational flyers, newspaper clippings, minutes, legislation, and legal briefs, provides the context for a Merger Guidebook and supporting reports. Also included in the collection are three scrapbooks unrelated to the merger. One follows Edgeville Elementary School from the 1930s to the 1970s, while the others each capture a single school year in Greensboro's northwestern school district during World War II.
