Lovay Wallace-Singleton (b. 1959), of Saginaw, Michigan, served in the United States Navy as an air traffic controller from 1978-1998.Lovay Wallace-Singleton was born 28 September 1959 in Saginaw, Michigan. Shortly before graduating high school, military recruiters visited Wallace-Singleton's school and administered the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) to interested students. Upon scoring well on the ASVAB, she visited a United States Navy recruiting office and enlisted for four years as an air traffic controller.In 1978, Wallace-Singleton went to Orlando Naval Training Center in Florida for basic training.
