Lunary Love (1928-2005), of Surry County, North Carolina, a career nurse, served in that capacity with the Women in the Air Force from 1952 to 1955. Lunary Love was born in Surry County, North Carolina, to tobacco farmers. In 1947, she graduated from Trinity High School in Randolph County, North Carolina. She worked in a hosiery mill for a year before enrolling in nursing school at High Point Memorial Hospital. She completed nursing school in three years, and then worked briefly at nearby Sternberger Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 1952, Love enlisted as a nurse in the Women in the Air Force.
