Marie Kevensky (1929-2015), of New York City served in the Marine Corps Women's Reserve from 1951 to 1954. She also worked for KLM Airlines and for the Department of State Foreign Service. Marie Kevensky grew up in New York City. After high school, she did clerical and secretarial work before joining the Marine Corps on 26 January 1951. Kevensky attended boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina, and then went to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where she was a secretary in the motor transport office. She left the Marines on 25 January 1954, and returned to New York. Kevensky worked briefly for KLM Airlines before accepting a job with the Department of State Foreign Service.
