Mary Elizabeth Partridge (1912-1989) of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, served as a recreation supervisor for the American Red Cross from 1943 to 1971. Mary Elizabeth Partridge of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, was born on 24 November 1912. She attended the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now UNCG) and graduated in 1935 with a bachelor of science degree in physical education. Following graduation, Partridge was employed as a physical education teacher in Durham, North Carolina. Partridge joined the American Red Cross (ARC) in 1943.
