Mildred A. Higgins served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps during World War II. She was stationed at the 228th Station Hospital in Sherburne, England. She returned to the United States in September 1945 and later worked at the Veterans Hospital in Rutland Heights, Massachusetts.
