Rebecca Ann Lloyd (1929-2013) of Greensboro, North Carolina, served in the United States Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service)from 1950 to 1972, during which time she aided in the development of the first nuclear-powered submarine. Lloyd had a career in commercial real estate. Rebecca Ann Lloyd, the daughter of grocer Aubrey Paul Lloyd and seamstress Georgia Garrison Lloyd, was born on 29 May 1929 in Greensboro, North Carolina. She graduated from the Curry School in 1946 and then attended the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina. Lloyd graduated with a degree in recreation in 1950.
