Sue Oliver (b. 1947). of Alton, Illinois, served in the United States Women Marines from 1969-1972 and the New York Army National Guard/Army Reserve from 1978-1983. Sue Oliver was born on 18 November 1947. Oliver joined the United States Women Marines in Springfield, Illinois in June 1969. Oliver completed Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Quantico, Virginia in 1969. After OCS, she was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant. She then attended Personnel Administration School at Parris Island, South Carolina in 1969. Later that same year, she spent two weeks on recruiting duty at Western Illinois University (WIU) and the University of Illinois. In 1970, Oliver was stationed at Camp Smith in Hawaii.
