Elizabeth Cannon (b. 1955), of Kenansville, North Carolina, served in the United States Army WAC (Women's Army Corps) as a transportation specialist, recruiter, and career counselor from 1973-1978. Elizabeth Cannon was born on 13 May 1955. She enlisted in the U.S. Army WAC in 1973 in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 1973-1974, Cannon attended basic training at Fort McClellan, Alabama. She attended AIT (Advanced Individual Training) at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Cannon was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina from 1974-1975 as a Transportation Specialist. From 1975-1976 Cannon was stationed with the 120th ARCOM 3398 at Fort Jackson, South Carolina as a Transportation Specialist and a Recruiter/Career Counselor From 1976-1978, Cannon served as an AFFES (Armed Forces Examining and Entrance Station) in Raleigh North Carolina. Elizabeth Cannon left the army with the rank of SSG – E-6 and later used the GI Bill benefits at East Carolina University.
