Mara Shelton (b. 1980), of Monterey, California, served in the Army Natiional Guard and the Air Force Reserve from 2001-2008. Shelton joined the Army National Guard in Roanoke, Virginia, in 2001. After she served in the Army National Guard and Air Force Reserve, she married Paul Shelton. Shelton's first duty station was at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, in 2001. Next, Shelton was assigned to play the oboe in the 29th Infantry Division National Guard Band in Roanoke, Virginia from 2001 through 2002. In 2004, Shelton joined the Air Force Reserve at the Dobbins Air Force Reserve Base. Shelton's first duty station in the Air Force Reserve was at Hope Air Base in Fayetteville, North Carolina from 2004-2006, where she served as an Arial Transportation Specialist. From 2006-2008, Shelton served as a nurse in the North Carolina Army National Guard at Camp Butner, North Carolina Medical Detachment. In 2018, Shelton and her husband founded the TobaccoWood Brewing Company in Oxford, North Carolina. Mara Shelton of Monterey, California, was born on 2 June 1980.
