Ada F. Maxwell-Johnson (b. 1950), of Sanford, North Carolina, served in the United States Woman's Army Corps from 1968-1971.Ada F. Maxwell-Johnson of Sanford, North Carolina, was born on 12 June 1950. She joined the U.S. Women's Army Corps in June 1968 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Maxwell-Johnson completed basic training and advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort McClellan, Alabama from August through November 1968. From December 1968 to December 1969, she was stationed at the U.S. Army Garrison Presidio of Monterey, California as a ward clerk in the Intensive care unit. Her next duty station was at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana from January to March 1970 for stenographer training. Maxwell-Johnson's last duty station was at Fort Sam Houston, Texas from April 1970 to July 1971. Ada F. Maxwell-Johnson left the army with a rank of Specialist-5. She used the G.I. Bill benefits to attend Howard University and Strayer College. After the army, Ada Maxwell-Johnson had a son Jared C. Maxwell.
