By this same year, l9l2, the boarding girls and Kent girls were also required to buy a twelveudollar school uniform, required For all public occasions and appropriate for all social and even everyday occaa sions.120 Such public or social occasions might occur in connection with the three religious societies, the Young Men's Christian Associau tion, the Young Women's Christian Association, and the Samuel Crowther Friends of Africa, and with the two literary societies, the Cornelian Ring and the Bennett Literary Society.121

The relations between Kent Home and Bennett College appear to have been very good during Dr. Peeler's presidency. Mrs. Colburn, who became the Kent superintendent in Chavisl last year, remained in charge through the year l908ul909. The story of the fire of December 17, l909, mentioned earlier, completely occupied the Woman's Home Missionary Sociu ety report for the l909~l9l0 year; consequently, no superintendent was cited for that year. Miss Rose T. Robertson was superintendent during l9lOal9ll and l9ll=l9l2; she began the next year, but after a few months left, at which time Mrs. M. L. Donelson took charge.122 Dr.

Peeler complimented the program at Kent Highly when he said, ”Kent Home

is a model home, and those who qualify there should know how to make
