The second problem is the impossibility of giving an exhaustive history of the college. The time span of fifty—three years, the avail-

ability of information from many sources, and the nature of the master’s

thesis all worked together to produce a survey of the early history of

Bennett College. With much more extensive research, the history of Bennett College can be given in full. It is the writer's hope that

this interesting and significant task will soon be undertaken.
