Description
James Monroe Coward's military photograph album with pictures from his time in service during World War II. Mr. Coward joined the U.S. Army in January of 1942 and was transferred to the Jackson air base in Jackson, Mississippi. He was then stationed at Barksdale Field in Louisiana. James was also stationed in England for part of the war, serving three years overseas as part of the Army Ordnance force. He was promoted to Technician of the third grade during his time overseas which is equilvalent to staff sergeant. One photograph is dated February 3, 1945. There are family pictures scattered throughout the album including pictures of a fox hunt.
