Essential questions: What are the positive effects of the TRC process? What areas do you think need to use a truth and reconciliation process now and why? The lesson uses a video of Joyce Johnson (survivor) explaining the Truth and Reconciliation process and a video of the findings from the final report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report for teacher review. Students explore the concept of “false narratives” and discuss the TRC process and findings. They will answer questions based on the TRC process and findings.
