This folder contains three letters from NC Governor R. Gregg Cherry pertaining to the work of the North Carolina Selective Service System. Included are the appointment of McDaniel Lewis to the Veterans' Committee, a telegram from Lewis nominating James V. Morgan (the Coordinator of Selective Service Local Boards) for the appointment of Custodian of Selective Service Records, a letter acknowledging the telegram, and a missive directed to the personnel of the NC Selective Service System in August 1945.
