Description

Letters written by Beth Puckett to her husband Lewis Puckett, who was serving in the US Navy in the Pacific Theatre. Written during a period of relative social isolation, these letters mainly shed light on Beth's domestic affairs as a woman on the home front; most of the social activities she describes take place within her own home. She details the inadequacies of federal postal operations during wartime; additionally, she discusses the infantile paralysis (Polio) epidemic, citing its progress as the cause of a delay in the start of school.
