This is a directory of listings for the staff of the Guilford County Board of Education, for which Ben L. Smith served as superintendent during the 1939-1940 academic year. The directory has names and telephone extensions for leading faculty of all then existing schools in Greensboro as well as many advertisements like one for the PTA, and scores of Greensboro based business including the Guilford Piano and Music Center, King Cotton Hotel and the Jefferson Standard Building.
