In this transcript of an April 19, 1979, oral history interview conducted by Eugene Pfaff with William Snider, Snider discusses the history of the Greensboro News and Record, including the editorial board and policy of the Greensboro Daily News in the 1950s and 1960s and the role of the press in the 1960 and 1963 demonstrations. He also describes the behavior of demonstrators and the police department, race relations and integration in Greensboro, the civil rights movement nationally, and the political climate of North Carolina.
