At the time of the interview (Fall 2023), Tsunami Em, was a junior at UNCG. Em talks about her family, early life and background. She shares her high school experience and finding a community at Garinger High School and why she decided to attending UNCG. She talks about her major in Media Studies and why she decided to major in it. She briefly talked about the importance of representation and diversity in television and media. Em discusses here experience with Filipino American Student Association (FASA), attending the D7 event, and other events FASA hosts and may host in the future. Em talks about being a first generation college student, the challenges she faces and what it means to be a first generation college student means to her. She shares what it means to be Asian to her, her experience growing up Asian and the opportunities for students of Asian descent at UNCG to be involved with. She also talks about her early memories and experience with the COVID-19 pandemic and how it affected high school and college. The interview ends with Em sharing her potential post graduation plans and what impact UNCG has had on her and what it means.
