Many of the exchanges detail an educational conference which took place in South Carolina and the recruitment of speakers and attendees for that event. Also of large mention are educational developments in Georgia. Topics and correposndents include Editor A. J. McKelway of the Presbyterian Standard, attorney Frank R. McNinch, Mecklenburg Rural School Fund, J. D. McWhorter (Woman's Association for the Betterment of Public Schools in North Carolina), South Carolina Department of Education, O. B. Martin (the Charlotte Observer), Newton, N.C., Educational Campaign Committee in Atlanta Ga., the Wake County Association for the Betterment of Public School Houses, The Women's Association For the Betterment of Public School Houses in North Carolina, Edgar Gardner Murphy, William S. Dodge, Robert C. Ogden, and George Foster Peabody. Also included are a news article describing the development of a news industrial training school in Marshall, N.C. for colored boys and girls, a declaration adopted by the Educational Conference held in Columbia, S.C., April 11th, 1903., financial and attendance records of this conference, and a bulletin about public school libraries in South Carolina.
