Description
This May 28, 1973, letter from plaintiff's attorney Michael K. Curtis to defendant's attorney Beverly C. Moore, states that in addition to the Neo-Black Society status appeal, a motion to intervene would be filed on behalf of students who object to their fees being used to support an organization they believe to be discriminatory. On March 26, 1973, SGA had voted to reclassify (removed funding and recognition from) the Neo-Black Society. The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) Student Government Association (SGA) decision was overturned by university administration on the basis of faulty evidence and improper procedure by SGA, resulting in an eventual legal case that led to the Neo-Black Society's reinstatement as a recognized and funded organization.
