Knott discusses her early life as part of a military family living in Libya and many parts of the United States, her early life and early adult life, her service and life after retirement, as well as her perspectives concerning military culture and women in the military. Knott also documents her experience in entering the military in her 30s, her perception of changes within the military over the course of her service, and important figures in her service, especially Captain Kenneth Robinson.
