Senzig discusses growing up in rural Wisconsin with seven brothers and five sisters, her lifelong interest of becoming a nurse, and her decision to join the United States Navy Nurse Corps. She describes the difficulty of transitioning into the military, the positions she held at various duty stations throughout the world, and the different challenges she faced at each location. Senzig recounts being only the second nurse to attend Catholic University of America, the changes in military culture and nursing techniques over the years, the confidence she gained from being in the service, and her easy transition into retirement in 2008.
