Primarily documents the life of Paula Benway Flores, and her service with the United States Air Force. Flores recalls the physical and mental exertion of basic training, and having to learn to count on her fellow airmen for support during times of adversity. She also recalls the various deployments she was sent on, the negative effects it had on her marriage and family, and her frustration when she felt that she had always supported military, but in her time of need, the military did not support her. Flores also discusses her belief that the military should provide more detailed information for the adjustment from military to civilian life.
