Description
Primarily documents the life of Sarah Jones Wheeler and her service with the United States Air Force. Wheeler recalls being fascinated by the various cultures she encountered in Kuwait, as it was her first time traveling outside of the United States. She also expresses her personal disagreement with the U.S. military's reasons for being there, but feels, as a woman, it was an honor to be able to fight for her country. Wheeler recalls the many airman and women who helped her navigate her way through the U.S. Air Force, the relationships she formed with them that she believes she couldn't have gotten elsewhere, and how they made it emotionally difficult to leave the military.
