Alice C. Boehret (1919-2008) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1942 until 1946. She later taught at Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now the University of North Carolina Greensboro), serving as chair of the Department of Nursing from 1960 to 1966. Alice Crowther Boehret was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on January 2, 1919, and grew up in Philadelphia and Wildwood, New Jersey. Boehret graduated Germantown High School in 1937, then entered nursing training at Jefferson Medical College Hospital School of Nursing. She finished in 1941 and worked as a graduate nurse until she passed the state boards in 1942.
