Anne E. Horney Boehmer (1922-2015), of Greensboro, North Carolina, served in the United States Marine Corps Women's Reserve from 1943 to 1944. Anne Boehmer was born in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1922. After high school, she moved to Syracuse, New York for a time, before returning to Greensboro. She then joined the U.S. Marine Corps Women's Reserve and attended basic training at Hunter College in New York. Boehmer's first duty station was Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She was next assigned to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, also in North Carolina, where she worked keeping records of airplane maintenance.
