Carolyn F. Dominik (b. 1950), of Queens, New York, served in the United States Air Force Nurse Corps from 1973-1993. She retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Carolyn F. Dominik was born in 1950 in Queens, New York and raised there and in New Hyde Park, Long Island, New York. Her father's work caused her family to move to Greensboro, North Carolina, and she attended UNC Greensboro for college, graduating with a nursing degree. During her senior year of college, she signed up for two years in the United States Air Force after graduation. Dominik went to Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas for basic training in 1973, entering service as a first lieutenant.
