Jeanne Marie McGovern (1914-1999), of Dubuque, Iowa, served in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) from 1943-1946. From September 1943 to 30 July 1942, she worked as a recrutier and then was sent to London and Paris for two years with the fiscal director's office of the European Theater of Operations. She was awarded the Bronze Star for her service.
