Maggie V. McPherson (1909-1976) served in the American Red Cross and the Special Services from 1942-1976. Maggie V. McPherson (1909-1976) is a graduate of Woman's College of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (now UNCG). During World War II, McPherson volunteered with the American Red Cross, which assigned her to various service clubs for United States military personnel. After the war, McPherson joined the Special Services to operate Army service clubs. From 1949 to 1951, she directed Air Force service clubs in Guam and Japan. From 1951 through the mid-1970s, she served in the Recreation Center at Osan Air Base in Korea.
