J'Metria Anderson (b. 1979), of Gulfport, Mississippi, served in the United States Marine Corps from 1997-2001. J'Metria Anderson was born in Gulfport, Mississippi. In December 1996, she entered the Delayed Entry Program for the United States Marine Corps while still in high school. Anderson graduated from Gulfport High school in 1997 and went to basic training immediately after. Her basic training was at Parris Island, South Carolina and she had two-week Marine Combat training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Anderson had her advanced training in motor transportation at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Anderson's first duty station was at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba.
