Hyla Bynum (now Cundiff) was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina on September 26, 1927. She graduated from Lincoln Heights High School, which included elementary school grades in prior years and was the only black school in Wilkes County. She attended Johnson C. Smith Unviersity (then College) from 1944 until 1948. This photo album includes a wealth of visual information about the College, including buildings, students, groups, sports, and student activities. There are a few more recent color photographs intersperced in the album.
