Description

Casals has received Metcalfe's letter. He was concerned that he might not get it before leaving for Buenos Aires the next day. He understands and agrees with her thoughts about Andree. He cannot break his promise to her. "I was surprised to have (according to Whiting, coming from Bauer) a 'wife' in Barcelona...! I asked Bauer what that is supposed to mean, and he assured me he knows nothing about it - is it a misunderstanding or a stupid invention by Mr. Whiting?" He doesn't understand what she writes about Mrs. Farquhar. His health is somewhat better: "I still have some pain, but not as alarming the last few days."
