Description
This scrapbook, created by Mary Sue Beam between 1919 and 1923, documents Beam's experience as a student at the North Carolina College for Women (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). The scrapbook entitled "My Memory Book: North Carolina College" contains lists of friends and addresses with notes, ephemera related to Beam's membership in the YWCA and the Dikean Society, report cards, programs from inter-societal debates, a travel diary of a trip to Washington, D.C.; and materials related to her religious activities as a Baptist. Photographs in this scrapbook include candid and posed shots of friends and classmates, as well as images of class sweaters, 1923 pennants, the hose house, Marshalls, and a 1922 trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains, which included visits to Camp Alice and Robert E. Lee Hall in Blue Ridge, NC.
